VS 304
ex. MUNIN

Trałowiec VS 304 Munin
German fishing trawler (S/fi Fischdampfer, 268 GRT) built in 1916, taken over by Kaiserliche Marine, then Kriegsmarine, and rebuilt. Served under many names as a patrol boat (Vorpostenboot), auxiliary minesweeper (Hilfsminensuchboot) or training vessel (Schulboot). Sunk after collision near the port of Hel in 1945. The crew managed to leave the ship. One of the best wreck of the Puck Bay. Accessible even from shore. Lies at 39 m.

TUGBOAT ABEILLE?

Obraz
Tugboat commonly known as "Abille'a" (perhaps Polonised version of Abeille - fr. bee, and tugboats  produced under this name until recently). Not sure whether this has been finally identified (?) but some sources (e.g. divingbaltic.pl) say it is Abeille no 8 - a 37 m-long ship built in 1936 in Leith, France, incorporated for Kreigsmarine in Benodet in 1940. Sunk while helping other ship in trouble close to Hel in the winter of 1945. Others (jollydiver.pl) question this, as according to data from Leith shipyard Abeille no 8 was sunk in 1942 by the Allied air force near Le Harve off the coast of France. She now rests on her keel at 47 m depth.

K18 BRYZA

Bryza does not have a thrilling history. She was a passenger and small-transport cutter (167 GRT) that served in the Polish Navy since 1965. Being the part of the 43rd auxiliary ships squadron of the 9th Coast Defense Flotilla, it stationed in Hel till 2001. In May 2008 the ship was redeemed from the scrapping company by the city of Hel, in order to sunk it near the port as an attraction for divers. In 2009 she was laid on 20 m depth.

Wooden 'Yard Minesweeper' (YMS, Mk II) built in 1942 in Robert Jacob's shipyard in City Island, NY (worth to note is that the famous JY Cousteau's Calypso was a former YMS Mk I). As part of the Lend-Lease act she was transferred to the Royal Navy, where she took part among others in Normandy landing. After the war demobilized and formally returned to the US. In 1947 bought by Polish authorities together with three other ships. Served in the Polish Navy within 4th Minesweeper Flotilla under DF, then T-31, designation. Decommissioned in 1957 and sunk in the middle of the Puck Bay for military divers training purposes. She is now one of the most known wrecks of this area, lying at 21 m depth on keel, slightly tilted to the port side. Unfortunately, relatively recently, she lost the remnants of her superstructure, presumably  due to fishermen activity (?).

ORP KUJAWIAK

Small (283 GRT - emerged, 353 GRT - submerged), coastal M-type class ("Malutka", XV series) sub built in CCCP in 1940 (?). Handed to Poland in 1955, served in the Navy till 1966. Then it was sunken as a ship target on shallow sand-bank in the middle of Puck Bay - former air force training ground. Lies there among other wrecks.

G7? TORPEDO

Remains of, most probably, a German WWII G7x torpedo type lying near the torpedo testing facility in Gdynia Babie Doły. The stern section with propellers is missing.
